Sony finally took the winning shot at Microsoft when it announced the price of its upcoming PlayStation 4. The PlayStation 4, which is going to be $100 cheaper than Microsoft's Xbox One, is going to be available for $399 in the U.S. market.
Sony made the announcement at the ongoing E3 gaming expo where the company showcased the PS4 design.
The PS4 is going to come with a single DualShock 4 controller and the users will have to shell out $59 in order to make a pair of DualShock 4 controllers. The console is also going to come without the PlayStation Camera that is going to cost another $59 in the U.S. market.
However, Microsoft's Xbox One, which is priced at $499, will come bundled with Kinect sensor.
Talking about its new gaming product, Sony says, "The PS4 features a simple but modern design accentuated by its linear flat form factors. The surface of the PS4 body is subdivided into four sections, as if four blocks are stacked together making one figure, with disc slot, buttons, power indicator and vent placed within the slim interspace created between the sections. The power indicator designed atop the body will glow in a PlayStation blue color when the power button is turned on. The foreside and backside of the body is slightly angled; it not only gives users easy access to the power button and disc slot when placed either horizontally or vertically but also helps conceal the connected cables."
Sony is going to make the PS4 available is holiday season, where as Microsoft is aiming to gain some more market share by releasing its Xbox One in November this year.
According to Sony, the PS4 has got a good support from game publishers as the number of developers joining the PS4 went up from 126 to 505 from February this year.
The PlayStation 4 will come with one PlayStation console, one DualShock 4 wireless controller, one mono headset, one AC power cord, one HDMI cable and one USB cable.
