AT&T just kicked off a sweet, new limited-time promotion, slashing 50 percent off the price of the iPhone 5, HTC One and many other smartphones.
More specifically, AT&T is now offering any smartphone between $0.99 and $199.99 for half the price, including not only top-tier handsets such as the aforementioned iPhone 5 and HTC One, but also the Samsung Galaxy S4, Samsung Galaxy S4 Active and others.
If getting a new smartphone for half the price is not enough, AT&T is also waiving all activating fees through the end of the month. As expected, customers who want to take advantage of this limited-time AT&T promotion must sign a two-year contract online with the carrier. To get the discount in-store, meanwhile, customers will have to trade in their old handset, which must be no older than three years. With that in mind, the online deal seems far better, as customers don't have to trade in anything but just commit themselves to a contract.
The deal is quite straightforward: the customer chooses the desired device, adds it to the cart and goes through the regular process of selecting a plan or, for existing AT&T customers, upgrading their line. The discount will then be applied to said device in the card just before checking out. No other hassles, no special process. Add a device to your cart, select the plan and get the handset for half its normal price.
This limited-time offer is available only through the end of the month, as it expires on June 30. That means that interested buyers can choose their desired handset and get it for half price this week only.
Considering that high-end devices usually come with a price to match, subsidies are often the only chance for many to get a top-tier device. Being able to get an iPhone 5, an HTC One, a Samsung Galaxy S4/Active, a BlackBerry Z10 or other such devices that are in high demand nowadays for half the price is definitely a deal worth mentioning and it will most likely boost AT&T's subscriber base. The carrier has quite a wide selection of devices available between $0.99 and $199.99, so browse its catalog and see if it's worth it.
