A new HTC One Mini benchmark result confirms the handset's specs, including a 1.4GHz quad-core processor and the latest Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean.
The HTC One Mini, as the name suggests, will come as a downsized version of the HTC One, the company's current flagship. As expected with Mini versions of flagship smartphones, the smaller handset will trade in some of that oomph for a lower price tag and a more compact form factor.
The GFXBench website recently added a page for the HTC One Mini, confirming some details about the smartphone's technical specifications in one benchmark. A second benchmark, meanwhile, refers to the smaller handset's 3D graphics performance when compared to the flagship HTC One.
According to GFXBench, the HTC One Mini has the previously rumored "m4" model number and will come with a quad-core Snapdragon 400 processor with a maximum clock speed of 1.4GHz, coupled with an Adreno 305 GPU. The smartphone will rock the latest Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean out of the box.
The benchmark results are not complete, but they do reveal that the HTC One Mini performs roughly 60-70 percent lower than its big brother in terms of 3D graphics. On the other hand, this shouldn't come as much of a surprise considering that these Mini versions of current flagship powerhouses sport lower specs all around.
The HTC One Mini is expected to make its debut sometime in August, but nothing is for certain just yet. HTC did not make any official announcement so far, which means that all of the information that is currently available is still in the rumor state. August is just around the corner and more information may surface soon, but even that timeframe is just a rumor for now.
If the rumored August timeframe proves to be accurate, HTC should make things official and offer more details closer to that point. For now, take things with a grain of salt and a healthy dose of skepticism, as rumors can be hit-and-miss sometimes. The rumor mill is always busy churning ahead of big launches, but it's not always that accurate. Stay tuned for more information as it becomes available.
