T-Mobile has announced that the LG Optimus F3 will join its network on Aug. 7 as its "most affordable LTE Android-powered smartphone."
The LG Optimus F3 will be available on T-Mobile's new Jump Plan and Simple Choice Plan. Interested buyers will be able to pick up the handset for $0 down, followed by 24 monthly installments of $10. Customers will need to subscribe to one of T-Mobile's UNcarrier plans for calls, texts and data.
"With T-Mobile's Simple Choice Plan, Optimus F3 customers design their plan based on the number of lines and amount of high-speed data they want," the carrier explains in its press release. "Unlimited talk, text and Web with up to 500MB of high-speed data on your nationwide network is $50 per month (plus taxes and fees) for the first line. Customers can add another 2GB of high-speed data for $10 per month per line or get unlimited 4G data for an additional $20 per month per line. A second phone line can be added for $30 per month and each additional line is just $10 per month. There are no caps and no overages on T-Mobile's network and no restrictive annual service contracts."
The LG Optimus F3 comes with Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean on board, sports a 4-inch IPS WVGA display with a resolution of 800 x 480 pixels and has a long-lasting 2,460 mAh battery. In terms of connectivity, the smartphone supports Wi-Fi, NFC, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi Direct and 4G LTE.
"The Optimus F3 will seamlessly connect to T-Mobile's high-speed nationwide 4G HSPA+ and advanced 4G LTE coverage areas. T-Mobile's 4G LTE coverage now reaches 157 million people across the U.S. in 116 metropolitan areas and is on target to go nationwide by the end of the year, with plans for reaching 200 million people in more than 200 metropolitan areas. Major metropolitan areas where T-Mobile's 4G LTE network service has launched include New York, Los Angeles, San Francisco, Chicago, Boston, Philadelphia, Dallas, Seattle, Atlanta, Miami, with many more rolling out."
In addition to being an affordable 4G LTE smartphone, the LG Optimus F3 includes several features that make it a good mid-range handset. It packs a dual-core processor clocked at 1.2GHz, a 5-megapixel rear camera and a VGA front-shooter. It also includes 1GB of RAM and 4GB of internal storage, expandable via micro SD.
T-Mobile already has a product page for the LG Optimus F3 listing it as coming soon, but the price is not available yet.
