Oppo has been extensively teasing the launch of its upcoming Oppo N1 smartphone and the company has now launched a countdown on its website.
After various leaks and rumors pertaining to the Oppo N1 tried to paint a picture of what to expect from Oppo's upcoming smartphone, the company is now doing some teasing of its own.
Oppo's global website now shows a countdown, teasing that there are only 4 days left until the Oppo N1 becomes official. The company even posted an image of the countdown on its Facebook page.
While the countdown aims to boost excitement in anticipation of the big unveiling, there is something intriguing: the counter is set to expire in four days, but a tagline at the bottom reads "Possibilities will unfold on September 23."
It's unlikely that Oppo set the counter wrong, which could only mean that the company will announce the Oppo N1 in four days, but will actually release the handset on Sept. 23.
The Oppo N1 is expected to boast high-end camera technology that would allow it to compete against big players such as the Samsung Galaxy Camera, the Nokia Lumia 1020 and the upcoming Sony Honami.
Oppo also posted an image last week, teasing a highly-anticipated feature of the upcoming device: a rear touch panel. Some leaks followed the teaser and offered some details about the Oppo N1.
The device is expected to boast a large display and a slim home button, while all navigation buttons will reportedly be on-screen, with no buttons on the side of the smartphone. The handset is further rumored to boast some neat touch panel capabilities, including swiping through pages, scrolling, changing songs, full camera control and some user-defined functions.
It remains unclear at this point just what hardware and software specifications the upcoming Oppo N1 will sport, aside from boasting a high-end camera. With just four more days to go, however, the brand new Oppo N1 smartphone will become official soon enough. The company is obviously excited about it and for good reasons, judging from the teasers. Oppo still has to make a name for itself in the highly competitive smartphone market, but it seems to be on the right track, as it had only managed to impress so far.
