The HTC T6 device that leaked on several occasions will reportedly launch as the HTC One Max, as previously speculated.
HTC made it big time with its flagship smartphone, the HTC One, as many consider it to be one of the best Android handsets of this year. The smartphone boasts high-end specs and has been widely praised for its design, sporting a classy unibody metal casing. The company's strategy to invest in more advanced manufacturing and tooling processes, as well as better materials, resulted in a smartphone that looks and feels high-end all the way.
The smartphone market, however, has become more competitive than ever and having just one great flagship smartphone just doesn't cut it anymore. Companies started making spinoffs of their respective flagships, with two particular trends in mind: the Mini and the Maxi (phablet) formats. HTC has already hopped on board the Mini train with its HTC One Mini, but it plans on joining the phablet party as well.
Massive phones are increasingly gaining momentum and smartphone manufacturers are racing to come up all sorts of high-end phablets to lure in consumers. LG launched its innovative G2 with a 5.2-inch display and incredibly thin bezels, Sony has its Xperia Z Ultra with a whopping 6.44-inch screen, Samsung boasts its Galaxy Note and Galaxy Mega series, and many more manufacturers want in on this trend.
Famous tipster @evleaks now comes with some information about HTC's upcoming phablet, claiming that the HTC T6 and the HTC One Max, both widely rumored, are in fact one and the same device. This is not the first time that this is speculated, but @evleaks' good track record adds more credibility to this theory.
"HTC One Max confirmed as retail name of the T6," reads one tweet from the famous leakster. "HTC One Max is Sprint-bound," @evleaks added soon after in another tweet.
The HTC One Max is widely expected to make its debut sometime next month, but no exact availability, specs or pricing details are currently available. HTC has not confirmed its upcoming phablet yet, so take things with a grain of salt for now. Evleaks may be a trusted tipster, but nothing is guaranteed until the company makes it official.
