The much-rumored Nokia Lumia 1520 phablet will reportedly make its debut on Nov. 8, joining AT&T's Windows Phone lineup.
The Lumia 1520 has leaked extensively in the recent past and rumors only seem to be intensifying. The device would launch not only as the first phablet from Nokia, but also the first phablet to run on Microsoft's Windows Phone mobile operating system.
The upcoming Nokia phablet is expected to pack high-end specs and features, including a massive 6-inch display that would be the biggest screen yet on a Windows Phone device.
"AT&T is on board with picking up the 6-inch Nokia Lumia 1520, which is expected to launch in early November according to one of our reliable sources," reported WPCentral.
"Windows Phone Central now has some further confirmation from a second person familiar with the matter. The new info points to a planned Friday, November 8th launch date on AT&T for the colossal Windows Phone," added the publication.
WPCentral further claims that the upcoming Nokia Lumia 1520 will be available in four colors - red, black, yellow and white. The device will reportedly cost $699 without a contract, which means it will be one of the most expensive Windows Phone handsets so far.
The $699 off-contract price is also the same price tag Microsoft Stores originally charged for the 41-megapixel Nokia Lumia 1020. AT&T may decide to make the Lumia 1520 more affordable and cut the full price to $650.
WPCentral does not detail an on-contract price tag, but believes the phablet could launch at the same price point as the Lumia 1020, i.e. $299.
Famous tipster @evleaks recently claimed the Lumia 1520 would launch on Oct. 22, but WPCentral believes that may be just the unveiling date, with an actual launch to follow on Nov. 8.
According to the publication;s source, the upcoming Nokia Lumia 1520, dubbed "Beastie," will sport a 6-inch 1080p display, 32GB of internal storage expandable via micro SD, the latest Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 processor and a high-end 20-megapixel camera. The device is also expected to pack a large 3,400 mAh battery.
Keep in mind, however, that nothing is official yet. Nokia has not announced plans for a phablet so far, so it's all in the rumor state for now.
