Motorola's new flagship Moto X on Rogers Canada is now available for just $99.99 from Best Buy, allowing for considerable savings of $70.
The Moto X made its debut with all bells and whistles back in August, drawing a great amount of interest due to its unique features and the promise of a high degree of customization.
Motorola's latest flagship came out as the first smartphone since Google acquired the company and it has Google's fingerprint all over it. It's not a very high-end device and it doesn't sport top-notch features, but its functionality is intriguing nonetheless.
While Canadian carrier Rogers is offering the Moto X for $169.99 on a two-year contract, Best Buy is undercutting the carrier's offer and has a new deal in place. Until Oct. 3, 2013, the Rogers Moto X from Best Buy will be available with a $99.99 price tag on a two-year contract with the carrier.
This is the lowest price the Moto X is currently available at this point, and it also the lowest price the smartphone has ever sported since its debut.
For those unfamiliar with the device, the Motorola Moto X comes as a mid-range handset with a 4.7-inch display and a 1280 x 720 pixels resolution. Under the hood, it packs a dual-core Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 Pro SoC clocked at 1.7GHz, with Motorola's X8 Mobile Computing System and paired with 2GB of RAM.
Other specs of the Moto X include 16GB or 32GB of internal storage capacity, a 10-megapixel ClearPixel rear camera, a 2,200 mAh battery and Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean running the show.
Another aspect that created a lot of hype is the Moto X' high integration with voice commands, allowing users to issue commands to the handset even when it's in sleep mode, without having to touch the device. The wrist gesture to operate the smartphone's camera has also been highly appreciated.
The Best Buy Moto X promotional offer will end on Oct. 3 and the handset cannot be ordered online. Interested shoppers who want to get the Rogers Moto X for $99.99 will have to visit a nearby Best Buy location. Users will also be able to reserve it in store. The handset is available in black and white color options. Check out Motorola's product page for more details.
