HTC One owners on AT&T are in for some great news, as the latest Android 4.3 Jelly Bean software update is heading their way next week.
Sprint has already rolled out the Android 4.3 update for its version of the HTC flagship smartphone and now it seems it's AT&T's turn to follow suit.
HTC President Jason Mackenzie shared some more information regarding the HTC One Android 4.3 rollout schedule and AT&T customers are set to get the new software next week.
"Good news for One users on AT&T. 4.3 update passed AT&T certification today. Will begin to push to your phones early next week," tweeted HTC USA on Friday, Oct. 4.
Mackenzie did not give a specific rollout date, but early next week means that in two or three days tops HTC One owners on AT&T should start receiving the much-awaited software update.
The HTC One is considered one of the best Android smartphones currently available on the market, but the fact that it launched with Android 4.1 Jelly Bean on board was a drawback for many. With Android 4.4 KitKat yet to make its officially debut, Android 4.3 is the very latest version of Google's mobile operating system.
The update to Android 4.3 Jelly Bean has long been expected and will bring some notable improvements and new features to the HTC One. If some smartphone shoppers were in doubt whether to get the HTC One or not due to the software version, now the choice should be much easier. The HTC One already boasts high-end specs and features and a highly-praised aluminum unibody design and the latest Android software will only make it more attractive.
Many AT&T customers will likely start checking for Android 4.3 Jelly Bean first thing on Monday following Mackenzie's tweet, but the update will likely roll out gradually. This means that some may get it on Monday, while others may have to wait just a little bit longer until they receive the update notification. Either way, it should arrive soon enough for all HTC One owners on AT&T. Meanwhile, users on T-Mobile should get the update in mid-October, while Verizon customers will have to wait until the end of the month.
