The upcoming Google Nexus 5 is a very hot topic right now and a new leak seems to confirm previously-speculated specs for the device.
We just saw a technical manual leak, allegedly detailing the Nexus 5 specs, and now some screenshots appear to confirm those alleged specifications. It's still no guarantee that the purported Nexus 5 will actually launch in this configuration, but it does add more fuel to the fire.
The newly-leaked images come from Gadget Helpline, the same site that previously leaked photos of an early Android 4.4 KitKat build. While the information is not new, it appears to confirm some of the specs listed in the LG D821 technical manual that emerged online over the weekend. The new screenshots also show the white status icons in the notifications drop bar, something mentioned in other previous leaks.
"The Nexus 5's specs have been revealed using the Android System Info app, with screenshots revealing details on the phone's screen, memory, CPU, graphics and camera," notes Gadget Helpline.
The publication's screenshots confirm that the upcoming Google Nexus 7 will pack the latest Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 processor clocked at 2.2GHz and paired with 2GB of RAM. The smartphone will reportedly come in 16GB and 32GB internal storage configurations, without offering the option to add further memory via a microSD card.
The 16GB model will seemingly have 12.55GB of storage actually available to the user, which is much better than the 9GB of free space the 16GB version of the Samsung Galaxy S4 actually offered.
Gadget Helpline further confirms that the Nexus 5 will have a Full HD display with a resolution of 1776 x 1080 and a pixel density of 480 pixels per inch (ppi), which would make the handset's display sharper than the HTC One and the Galaxy S4's. The display will reportedly be one of LG's ISP panels.
Other specs confirmed by the screenshots include an Adreno 330 graphics chip and an 8-megapixel rear camera, which will reportedly sport continuous focus for both video and still photos, as well as a macro shooting option and several color effects.
The Google Nexus 5 is expected to make its debut sometime this month, rocking the new Android 4.4 KitKat, but Google has yet to make an official announcement. That said, it is advisable to take all leaks, rumors and speculations with a healthy dose of skepticism until official confirmation.
