The upcoming Moto G has been a hot topic lately and Motorola has now announced that its budget smartphone will launch on Nov. 13.
The much-touted Moto X was the first smartphone to make its debut from Motorola after Google acquired the company. Shortly after the Moto X's launch, Motorola said that it was just the first smartphone in a new line and promised to deliver a lower-cost version soon.
The Moto G is expected to launch as that budget smartphone Motorola touted and we now have an official launch date to look forward to.
"Time to say hola, olá, g'day, hallo, bonjour, namastē, hello to #MotoG https://moto-g.com," Motorola tweeted on Monday, Nov. 4.
The Moto G first made the news back in October, when the general belief was that it would launch as a cheaper, tuned-down version of the Moto X. More reports have surfaced in the meantime and a recent leak revealed more purported specs, as well as a price tag for the upcoming device. Moreover, Motorola is also expected to offer the Moto G with interchangeable back covers.
The official tweet from Motorola Mobility now confirms that the pocket-friendly Android smartphone is ready to make its debut in a little over a week. The image attached to the announcement shows an airplane flying all around the world, suggesting a wide global release.
All of those greetings in different languages, meanwhile, suggest that Motorola may launch its Moto G in at least 7 countries initially. While Motorola has yet to confirm the Moto G's specs, recent leaks and reports have painted a pretty clear picture of what to expect.
The budget Moto G will reportedly come with a 4.5-inch display with a resolution of 1280 x 720 and a pixel density of 329 pixels per inch (ppi), a quad-core processor clocked at 1.2GHz, a 5-megapixel rear camera, a 1.3-megapixel front-facing shooter, and 8GB of internal storage capacity. The mid-range smartphone is expected to ship with Android 4.3 Jelly Bean out of the box. The handset will reportedly sport a £134.35 price tag in the UK, i.e. about $215.
