The Nokia Lumia 1520 Windows Phone 8 phablet will reportedly make its U.S. debut on Nov. 22, not Nov. 15 as it previously seemed.
The Nokia Lumia 2520 Windows RT tablet is expected to launch on the same day as the Lumia 1520.
Just yesterday we reported that Microsoft has started taking pre-orders for the AT&T Nokia Lumia 1520. The company has a pre-order page up and running, complete with pricing and a Nov. 15 launch date for the device. It now appears that the listing was accidental, as Microsoft has since removed it from its online store.
A leaked inventory listing obtained by Windows Phone Central now shows that the Nokia Lumia 1520 will become available from AT&T and the Microsoft Store on Nov. 22, one week later than the previous Nov. 15 launch date.
The same inventory listing also shows that Nokia's first-ever tablet, the Lumia 2520, will make its U.S. debut on Nov. 22 as well. Unlike the Lumia 1520 phablet, which will launch as an AT&T exclusive, the Lumia 2520 will be available on both AT&T and Verizon Wireless.
The Nokia Lumia 1520 is expected to cost $199.99 with a two-year contract and $549.99 outright, without carrier ties. The Lumia 2520, meanwhile, will reportedly cost $499, but WP Central claims Verizon will drop the price to $399 on Black Friday. This means that one week after launch, the Lumia 2520 will cost $100 less on Verizon. The publication got the info from a leaked ad for Verizon's Black Friday deals.
The AT&T-exclusive Lumia 1520 will come with 16GB of internal storage capacity and no micro SD card slot for additional memory. The phablet will be available in black, white, red, and yellow. The Lumia 2520 will be available in 32GB black and red versions from Verizon, and a 32GB black model from AT&T.
Both devices mark an important milestone for Nokia. The Lumia 1520 launches as the company's first ever phablet, and the very first Windows Phone phablet as well. The Lumia 2520 is also a first for Nokia, as it is its first tablet, but it's not the first Windows RT tablet. Both the Lumia 1520 and Lumia 2520 are expected to stir plenty of interest and considerably boost Nokia's sales and appeal.
