Amazon has a special promotion for the Sprint Nexus 5, offering the smartphone for just $9.99 when signing up for a new two-year contract with the carrier.
While this price is available only for new contracts, Amazon also has deals for existing Sprint customers looking to purchase a Google Nexus 5. The handset costs $19.99 when adding a new line, or $29.99 if you want to upgrade. The off-contract smartphone is not part of the promotion and will still cost $449.99 outright.
The LG-made Google Nexus 5 was one of the most highly-anticipated smartphones of this year and is already among the most popular devices currently available on the market. The handset packs high-end specs and features and is part of the Nexus family, which means a pure stock Android experience and timely updates as soon as a new OS version is released.
Moreover, the Nexus 5 also served as the launch vehicle for Google's new Android 4.4 KitKat, launching as the first device to rock the latest OS.
In terms of specifications, the new Nexus flagship smartphone sports a 4.95-inch full HD display with a resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels, packs the powerful Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 processor clocked at 2.3 GHz and has 2GB of RAM to ensure a smooth and fluid performance.
The smartphone comes in two available storage configurations - 16GB or 32GB. Other specs include an 8-megapixel rear camera with optical image stabilization (OIS), a powerful 2,300 mAh battery and Android 4.4 KitKat out of the box. The smartphone measures 2.7 x 0.3 x 5.4 inches and weighs in at 4.6 ounces.
At just $9.99, Amazon's new promotion of the Sprint Nexus 5 is pretty tough to beat, and it may not be available for long. Nexus smartphones usually fly off the shelves in no time, so interested buyers might want to take advantage of this offer while it lasts.
