If you're dreaming of a white Christmas, Google may help out a bit with its new Nexus 7 in a white model.
The hugely popular Google Nexus 7 is now available in a wintery white version, but there's a catch. If you want this white model, you'll have to go for the higher-capacity 32GB version. The 16GB Nexus 7 is still available only in black.
"Today we're introducing a new *white* Nexus 7; available on Google Play in the US, UK & JP," Google announced in a tweet on Tuesday, Dec. 10.
So if you're in the U.S, the UK, or Japan, you can now order a 32GB Nexus 7 (2013) tablet from the Google Play store. It's also worth mentioning that the white color option is available just for the Wi-Fi-only model of the tablet, not for the 4G LTE version.
Other than the white case, the Nexus 7's bezel still retains the same black paint scheme, and remains unchanged in terms of specs, software or performance. The tablet proved to be very popular, as it sports high-end specs and features and comes with the "Nexus experience," which is highly appreciated.
As a reminder, the second-generation Nexus 7 sports a 7-inch display with a resolution of 1920 x 1200 and a quad-core Snapdragon S4 processor, among other things.
Being part of the Nexus family, the tablet already runs the latest Android 4.4 KitKat. The Nexus experience means being at the front of the line whenever a new Android version comes out, as the Nexus devices will get it first. Combined with good specs and budget-friendly pricing, Nexus devices are always a hit with consumers.
The 32GB Wi-Fi-only Nexus 7 in white currently appears as in stock and ready to ship in one or two business days. However, keep in mind that new models are usually in fairly limited supply at launch, so interested buyers might want to place their order sooner rather than later.
If you want a 16GB or 4G LTE model of the Nexus 7, meanwhile, you'll have to settle for the black versions.
