A good while after iOS 7 became available, the folks over at Evasi0n now have a jailbreak ready for iDevices running the latest OS.
Apple made its new iOS 7 available to the general public three months ago, when it launched the new software alongside its new iPhone 5S and iPhone 5C back in September. With iOS 7, users saw a major overhaul of the operating system, that brought several changes and new features.
A new iOS version, however, also meant that Apple had plugged all known exploits, leaving iOS users with no jailbreak available. While Apple devices are widely popular and high-end, many iOS users prefer to escape Apple's walled garden and tweak their devices to their heart's desire with jailbreaks.
For Apple users who have devices running the latest iOS 7, it has been a long wait when it comes to tweaking their phones. If previous jailbreaks used to pop up in just a few weeks, this time it's been a few long months. There's even a crowd sourcing site dedicated solely to motivating groups to jailbreak the OS, and it has raised quite a few thousand bucks already.
If you've been waiting patiently on a jailbreak to help you tweak your iOS 7 device, the wait is now over. Well-known iPhone hacking collective evasi0n has just announced that it finally completed an untethered jailbreak for iOS 7. The jailbreak is now available for installation on any iOS device running iOS 7.0 through 7.0.4. According to evasi0n, the process will only take a few minutes to complete and it works on both Mac and PC (Windows and Linux).
If you decide to jailbreak your iOS device, however, keep in mind that you do so at your own expense. Tweaking with your device also implies a risk and the handset could become unstable. If you still want to proceed, check out evasi0n's website for useful tips and tricks on how to install the new iOS 7 jailbreak. Once you go through with it, don't forget to drop by our comment section below and let us know how it all worked out.
