Lenovo has a bunch of products ready for CES 2014, including its latest ThinkPad X1 Carbon Ultrabook, new ThinkPad 8 tablets, and other.
The company boasts that its latest ThinkPad X1 Carbon is the world's lightest 14-inch Ultrabook, weighing just 2.8 pounds, and is "virtually indestructible."
"Lenovo continues to push the boundaries of design and technology as we aspire to create the best products in the market. Out obsession in the pursuit of perfection is evident with these smarter devices designed to enhance the way people interact at home and at work," touts Peter Hortensius, SVP and president of Think Business Group, Lenovo. "The ThinkPad X1 Carbon delivers a stunning user experience with the best professional display and new interactive methods and represents another step in our PC plus journey."
"The new X1 Carbon is a beautiful contradiction. Uncompromisingly light, weighing only 2.8 pounds, it is virtually indestructible. The lightest 14" Ultrabook in the world has all the power and durability that the modern professional requires. Born from the same stock as aircrafts and racing cars, the X1 Carbon is forged from Carbon Fiber, which weighs less than magnesium and aluminum but is stronger than both."
Under the hood, the new Lenovo ThinkPad X1 Carbon packs a fourth-generation Intel Core i7 processor, a solid 8GB of RAM, and 512GB of SSD storage. The Ultrabook also sports Adaptive Keyboard technology, designed to smoothly adjust based on the software or application in use, in order to highlight the most relevant keys.
Moreover, the new ThinkPad X1 Carbon further comes with gestures and voice controls, allowing users to manage their Ultrabook more easily. The Rapid Charging technology, meanwhile, will allow the device to charge up to 80 percent in just one hour, and provide users with a battery life of up to nine hours. The Ultrabook also boasts built-in 4G connectivity.
For users who value an easy docking experience, the new Lenovo ThinkPad X1 Carbon also comes with the OneLink Docking solution, which is designed to reduce cable clutter by allowing users to get power, Gigabit Ethernet, as well as dual-display support through just one single cable. The OneLink Dock connector will be available for $179.
The new Lenovo ThinkPad X1 Carbon will hit commercial availability in late January, retailing for a $1,299 starting price.
