The Nokia Lumia 1520 may soon be headed to AT&T in the long-awaited 32GB configuration, offering more space for storage-hungry users.
At the moment, the Nokia Lumia 1520 is available from AT&T and a bunch of retailers in the U.S., but only in the 16GB internal storage capacity. Nokia promised a while back that a larger-capacity 32GB version would launch in due time, but so far nothing has materialized. AT&T is the exclusive carrier for the Lumia 1520, and a new report claims that it will soon add the 32GB version of the phablet to its lineup.
According to a new report from WPCentral, the 32GB AT&T Nokia Lumia 1520 will finally become available in just a couple of days, on Jan. 10. The publication doesn't mention the source of this new information, but it does point out that the 32GB Nokia Lumia 1520 will reportedly by DF (Direct Fulfillment) only, which means that it will only be available for online orders, not directly in stores.
Just like the 16GB model, the 32GB version of the Nokia Lumia 1520 will come with microSD card support for additional memory of up to 64GB.
The Nokia Lumia 1520 is the company's very first phablet, as well as the first phablet to run Microsoft's Windows Phone operating system. For those unfamiliar with the device, the Lumia 1520 boasts a massive 6-inch display with a full HD resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels and packs a powerful Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 quad-core processor clocked at 2.2GHz and coupled with Adreno 330 graphics and 2GB of RAM.
Other features include a high-end 20-megapixel rear camera with PureView technology, Carl Zeiss optics, optical image stabilization (OIS) and other neat functionality. The Lumia 1520 runs Windows Phone 8 Update 3 (GDR3) with Lumia Black pre-installed out of the box, and packs a large 3,400 battery to keep things up and running.
WPCentral makes no mention of how much the 32GB model would cost, but if this report proves to be correct and the 32GB Nokia Lumia 1520 hits AT&T on Jan. 10, we'll soon know all about it. Stay tuned for more details as soon as they become available.
