The Verizon Samsung Galaxy Note 3 phablet is now available for $199.99 from Amazon, i.e. $100 less than the carrier's asking price.
The phablet trend has really caught on and many companies have brought their own phablet offerings to the market, but Samsung's Galaxy Note line remains dominant. Samsung was the one to create this whole trend when it first launched its original Galaxy Note back in October 2011. At the time, many believed that consumers would not go for such a huge smartphone that was almost as big as a tablet, but Samsung proved them all wrong.
The company saw increasing demand with each new Galaxy Note iteration, and the latest Samsung Galaxy Note 3 seems to be the most popular one yet. Just back in December, the company announced that it had already sold more than 10 million Galaxy Note 3 units within the device's first two months on the market. Even Apple is rumored to jump on the phablet bandwagon, reportedly planning to launch its own 5.7-inch iPhone.
The Samsung Galaxy Note 3 comes with high-end specs and features, as well as a slew of Samsung-exclusive functionality that aims to provide a superior phablet experience. The device sports a large 5.7-inch full HD Super AMOLED display with a resolution of 1920 x 1080 and a pixel density of 386 pixels per inch (ppi). Under the hood, the Galaxy Note 3 packs a powerful Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 quad-core processor clocked at 2.3GHz, coupled with Adreno 330 graphics and a hefty 3GB of RAM.
The phablet comes with 32GB of internal storage capacity and a microSD card slot that supports up to 64GB of additional memory. On the software side, the Samsung Galaxy Note 3 is running Android 4.3 Jelly Bean with Samsung's own TouchWiz Nature UX on top. An upgrade to the latest Android 4.4 KitKat is expected soon.
Other specs of the Samsung Galaxy Note 3 include a high-end 13-megapixel rear camera and a 2-megapixel front shooter. In terms of connectivity, the supersized smartphone comes with 4G LTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac, Bluetooth 4.0, GPS, and NFC. A large 3,200 mAh removable battery keeps things up and running.
The Verizon Samsung Galaxy Note 3 normally retails for $299.99 from the carrier's online and retail stores, but Amazon now has a better deal. The retailer is offering the device for just $199.99 when signing a new two-year contract with Verizon. To take advantage of this offer, head here to get the black version of the Verizon Samsung Galaxy Note 3, or here to get the white model for $100 less from Amazon.
