The high-end Samsung Galaxy NotePRO 12.2 has just stopped by the FCC, sporting support for Verizon Wireless' 4G LTE bands.
Samsung unveiled its 12.2-inch Galaxy NotePRO at CES 2014, along with three Galaxy TabPRO models. The Galaxy NotePRO aims to cater to the top-end segment of the market, boasting top-of-the-line specs and features aimed at productivity users.
The Samsung Galaxy NotePRO features a large 12.2-inch display with a resolution of 2560 x 1600, a "super clear" WQXGA LCD panel and a pixel density of 247 pixels per inch (ppi). The tablet also packs a powerful 2.3GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 processor and a hefty 3GB of RAM under the hood.
Other specs include 32GB of internal storage capacity, a microSD card slot with support for up to 64GB of additional memory, an 8-megapixel rear camera, and a 2-megapixel front shooter. Connectivity options include 4G LTE, dual-band Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac MIMO, Bluetooth 4.0, GPS, NFC, and an IR blaster. A large 9,600 mAh battery keeps things up and running.
Being part of the Note family, the Samsung Galaxy NotePRO also sports enhanced S Pen stylus functionality, which has proved to be very popular among consumers. Moreover, Samsung also focused on productivity with its new NotePRO, and the tablet rocks a new user interface called Magazine UX. This new UI offers three separate customizable panels, allowing users to easily manage their office/workspace, personal use, and social network activity.
The Samsung Galaxy NotePRO also maximizes the extra screen real estate, allowing users to run up to four apps simultaneously on the 12.2-inch display. A new Remote PC setup application, meanwhile, will enable users to easily connect to their PC or Mac through their tablet. The Galaxy NotePRO ships with Android 4.4 KitKat out of the box, with Samsung's Magazine UX on top.
Samsung did not announce any carrier partners for its new offerings at CES, but a new FCC filing suggests that the Galaxy NotePRO 12.2 LTE will hit Verizon Wireless soon. The device dropped by the FCC with model number SM-P905V, boasting support for LTE bands 4 and 13, which are the bands Verizon uses.
It remains unclear at this point just when Verizon Wireless will start offering the Samsung Galaxy NotePRO to its customers, but the FCC filing suggests an imminent launch. Stay tuned for more details as soon as they become available.
