The Samsung Galaxy S5 will reportedly boast a 5.25-inch QHD display, a Snapdragon 805 CPU, 3GB of RAM and other high-end specs, according to a new leak.
Rumors about the next-generation Samsung Galaxy s5 have been intensifying recently and the smartphone is expected to become official soon. Samsung has already confirmed that it will be holding an "Unpacked 5" press event on Feb. 24 in Barcelona, and the company is widely expected to take the wraps off its new flagship smartphone at the event.
As we get closer to the purported launch of the Galaxy S5, more rumors and reports are making rounds, trying to paint a clearer picture of what to expect. The upcoming flagship should boast several notable improvements over the current Galaxy S4, and a new leak now touts some exciting specifications.
According to Russian Blogger Eldar Murtazin, who proved to be accurate with his Galaxy S4 leaks before the smartphone was official, has now offered some more information about the Galaxy S5.
In a tweet on Tuesday, Feb. 4, Murtazin claimed that the Samsung Galaxy S5 will sport a 5.25 Super AMOLED display with a Quad HD (QHD) resolution of 2560 x 1440 and a high pixel density of 560 pixels per inch (ppi). The smartphone will reportedly pack either a Samsung Exynos 6 processor or a Qualcomm Snapdragon 805 (depending on region), a hefty 3GB of RAM, and come in 16GB and 32GB internal storage configurations. The handset will further feature a 16-megapixel rear camera, a 3.2-megapixel front shooter, and a powerful 3,200 mAh battery.
The Samsung Galaxy S5 will likely hit commercial availability sometime in March or April, which would fall in line with Samsung's previous launch schedules. The handset is also expected to pack several neat Samsung-exclusive applications. Previous reports have also suggested that it will have a fingerprint reader, if not an eye scanner.
As always with such leaks, however, it is best to take everything with a healthy dose of skepticism. Samsung has yet to make an official announcement regarding its Galaxy S5 plans, but we'll keep you up to date as soon as we hear more.
