Microsoft's next version of Windows Phone has leaked online in a new slide, showing what the Notification Center will look like in the new build.
Microsoft is rumored to be working on a new version of Windows Phone for quite some time. Dubbed Windows Phone Blue, the update first leaked back in July 2013 and it was expected to roll out by the end of the year. That obviously did not happen, and now we are looking at 2014 to see the update's release.
While Microsoft has yet to make any official comment in this regards, some new details about the much-rumored Windows Phone Blue update have now surfaced online.
A Microsoft slide that was sent internally has now leaked, as Spanish publication Winphollowers reports. The site confirms that the upcoming Windows Phone update will indeed be called Windows Phone Blue, and the slide gives us a few hints about the Notification Center.
Based on the slide (see above), the new Notifications Center seems to have quick links for enabling features such as Wi-Fi and Bluetooth, which would be a welcome addition. Moreover, it looks like these links will also allow users to put the Windows Phone device into Airplane mode or Driving mode. Airplane mode needs no explanation, while Driving mode is expected to limit distractions when driving.
The leaked slide further shows the notification settings, listing pending notices. It also seems that users will be able to access the Notification Center by sliding a finger from the top of the screen, similarly to how Notification Centers work on Android and iOS devices, but this is not yet very clear.
As previously mentioned, this is a leaked slide that purportedly made rounds among Microsoft employees working on Windows Phone. The company has not confirmed anything so far, which means that nothing is official at this point. There's no specific date rumored for when the Windows Phone Blue update may start rolling out to devices, and the exact changes and additions that it will bring remain uncertain. Consequently, it is advisable to take everything with a grain of salt for now, but we'll keep you posted as soon as we learn more.
