Mugen Power has released a new extended battery case for the Sony Xperia Z1 smartphone, doubling the battery life of the handset.

The Sony Xperia Z1 is a high-end smartphone with powerful specs and features. The handset comes with a 3,000 mah battery that will provide up to 850 hours of standby time on 3G and up to 15 hours of talk time, also on 3G.

With high-end smartphones, however, all of those impressive specifications and features take a toll on battery life, and you need to charge them constantly if you want to continue using them. Power-hungry users have grown increasingly reliant on external battery packages to get some extra juice for their device, especially if they travel a lot and don't always have the time to leave the smartphone to charge. Mugen Power is among the leading brands worldwide in this domain, offering extended battery cases for a variety of devices.

Sony Xperia Z1 owners who need some extra battery for their smartphone can now get an extended battery case from Mugen. The case comes with 3,000 mAh of its own, thus doubling the battery life of the Xperia Z1 for a total of 6,000 mAh, which should keep the smartphone up and running for a good while.

Aside from the extra juice, the new Mugen battery case for the Sony Xperia Z1 also features LED light indicators on the back. Moreover, the case will also show users how much power they have left on their device, displaying 20 percent increments.

The battery case will not affect the Sony Xperia Z1's functions such as camera, microphone, and such. As always with cases, it will make the smartphone slightly more bulky, but the difference in size will not be major.

Mugen Power lists the Sony Xperia Z1 3,000 mAh extended battery case with a $89.50 price tag, with shipping set to start on Feb. 22. The company will ship worldwide via FedEx, and orders over $150 will also benefit from free shipping.

If you have a Sony Xperia Z1 and would like to double the handset's battery life, head over to Mugen's product page for the case at this link and place your order.
