The Verizon-exclusive Nokia Lumia Icon smartphone is set to hit Big Red's network this Thursday, Feb. 20, but an unboxing video has already popped up online.
The Verizon Nokia Lumia Icon, previously referred to as the Lumia 929, will go on sale on Feb. 20 for $199.99 on a two-year contract with the carrier. For this money, you'll get a beautiful smartphone with a large display and some pretty impressive specs and features.
The folks over at WPCentral have managed to get their hands on the device a few days before it goes on sale, and they have released an unboxing video of the Verizon Nokia Lumia Icon to give us a glimpse into what to expect.
First of all, here's what you'll find in the box, as listed on the back of the package:
The package itself is primarily red with white text, with Verizon and Nokia logos branded on the outer sleeve.
As WPCentral points out, the label lists the model number NOK929W. As previously mentioned, the Nokia Lumia Icon was expected to launch as the Lumia 929, the same name that appears in the phone settings. The official name, however, is the Nokia Lumia Icon.
The unboxing video gives us a quick look at the smartphone, showing the Nokia Lumia Icon's 5-inch full HD display with a resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels. In terms of specifications, the Lumia Icon packs a quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 processor clocked at 2.2GHz, paired with 2GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage capacity. The handset doesn't have a microSD card slot for additional memory.
Other specs include Nokia's high-end flagship mobile camera technology, as the smartphone rocks a 20-megapixel PureView shooter with Carl Zeiss optics. The handset supports Bluetooth 4.0, Wi-Fi, and has Qi wireless charging capabilities out of the box. It runs the latest version of Microsoft's Windows Phone operating system and features a large 2,420 mAh battery.
As previously mentioned, the Nokia Lumia Icon will launch exclusively on Verizon on Thursday, Feb. 20, sporting a $199.99 price tag when agreeing to sign a new two-year contract with the carrier. If you're intrigued, check out the video below to see the Nokia Lumia Icon unboxing.
