Song Joong-Ki Confirms Special Appearance In 'Man To Man'; What We Know So Far

Song Joong-Ki, who catapulted to international fame after starring in KBS 2TV's "Descendants of the Sun," is set to make a cameo appearance in the upcoming JTBC drama tentatively titled "Man to Man."

The JTBC drama will benefit from the work of screenwriter Kim Won-Suk, whose previous projects include the hit KBS 2TV drama "Descendants of the Sun" and 2013's "The Queen's Classroom."

With PD Lee Chang-Min helming the project, "Man to Man" portrays the story of a popular actor, Yeo Woon-Gwang (Park Sung-Woong), and a bodyguard with special investigation rights, Kim Sul-Woo (Park Hae-Jin). The latter becomes Yeo Woon-Gwang's bodyguard by some unavoidable conditions.

On Oct. 4, Tuesday, an unnamed source revealed that Song Joong-Ki will make a cameo appearance in the new JTBC drama, Han Cinema reported. The 31-year-old Hallyu star will take on the role of an assistant producer named Yeo Woon Kwang.

It is said that Song Joong-Ki will only appear for a short time. Nonetheless, it is important to note that the "Innocent Man" actor's character will play important twists in the show's storyline.

With an intended air date in the first quarter of 2017, filming for "Man to Man" is slated to kick off later in November in Hungary, Central Europe. Other stars include Kim Min-Jeong, Yeon Jeong-Hoon, Chae Jeong-An, Cheon Ho-Jin, Jang Hyeon-Seong, Tae In-Ho and Lee Si-Eon.

Meanwhile, Song Joong-Ki will show up next in "Battleship Island," an upcoming historical film to be directed by Ryoo Seung-Wan. He will portray a member of the Korean Independence group, Park Moo-Young, who sneaks onto Battleship Island to rescue a fellow member.

"No matter what kind of work, before the filming, there'll definitely be worries regarding these, but I had confidence in "Descendants of the Sun," Song told Marie Claire Korea, as cited by SongJoongKi_SG. "I can't only rely on the reaction from the audience, I need to concentrate all my efforts to immersing into this work and the script."

In "Battleship Island," Song Joong-Ki will be joined by So Ji Sub, Hwang Jung-Min, and Lee Jung-Hyun. Stay tuned for more news and updates.
