New TCL-Made BlackBerry Smartphones Will Line up This CES 2017
Ralphy Bonn SimTCL, a Chinese company best known for TVs and Alcatel phones, recently came to an agreement with the Canadian firm to release handsets under the BlackBerry brand. Alcatel's Guangdong-based subsidiary claimed a new era of its partnership with BlackBerry.
TCL came up with their plans for CES 2017 early next month and they focus squarely around BlackBerry. Earlier this 2016, the Canadian tech giant BlackBerry locked down its hardware division responsible for smartphone research and development.
Despite the fact that the Ontario-based company will no longer be making its own hardware the firm still has a lot of faith in the BlackBerry brand as a whole. They decided to continue the practice of licensing its brand to third-party manufacturers.
TCL will expose an evolutionary first in the mobile industry, which will include the addition of the new BlackBerry brand of smartphones, complementing the company's current portfolio. They revealed that they will bring the new BlackBerry-branded devices at the upcoming Consumer Electronics Show 2017 (CES) in Las Vegas.
"We will unveil more news at CES around our plans, showcasing the legacy of the BlackBerry smartphone brand, while also giving a glimpse into what new BlackBerry smartphones will offer as part of our bold new brand portfolio within the TCL," North America head Steve Cistulli said.
Recent announcements are far from any rare circumstances in official press launch, but what's surprising here is that TCL placed the BlackBerry brand at the center of its ambitions. The new BlackBerry lineup has been portrayed as a part of the evolutionary first in the mobile industry which TCL is planning to unveil this coming CES 2017.
The Consumer Electronics Show (CES) 2017 will take place in Las Vegas from Jan. 5 to Jan. 8, 2017.
