All New HTC One (2014) pricing leaked ahead of March 25 unveiling
Alexandra BurlacuThe All New HTC One will make its official debut on March 25, but we now have some pricing details ahead of the big unveiling.
While nothing is official at this point, the HTC One successor is among the worst-kept secrets ever. The smartphone has leaked extensively so far, appearing in all sorts of leaked images, videos, and so on. Virtually everything about the HTC One 2014 is already known, especially since we now have some pricing details as well.
The latest information comes from well-known tipster @evleaks, who has proved to be accurate countless times when leaking news about yet-to-be-announced devices or plans in the tech world. According to @evleaks, the All New HTC One will launch with a $600 price tag off-contract, which is the same price point as the HTC One when it originally debuted last year.
Moreover, @evleaks seems to confirm the gold-hued model that leaked a while back, noting that it may launch as an exclusive to Best Buy. If this proves to be accurate, it means that other retailers and carriers will sell only the gray and silver models of the HTC One.
"(The all new) HTC One (M8) will retail for $600 off-contract (same as the current One). Meanwhile, the gold color is a Best Buy-only SKU," @evleaks tweeted on Saturday, March 22.
HTC's upcoming flagship smartphone for 2014 is one of the most highly-anticipated devices of this year and is expected to launch with top-notch specs and features. Last year's HTC One was highly-praised for its premium build and design and powerful internals, and it successfully competed against the Samsung Galaxy S4 and other high-end handsets. The All New HTC One is expected to build on the success of its predecessor and take it to the next level, going up against the newly-launched Samsung Galaxy S5 and other current flagships.
Based on leaks and reports so far, the HTC One 2014 (M8), or the All New HTC One, will reportedly launch with a 5-inch full HD display, a 2.3GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 processor, 2GB of RAM, and 32GB of internal storage capacity. The handset is also expected to boast dual rear cameras with the company's UltraPixel technology. On the software side, the HTC One successor should launch with the latest Android 4.4 KitKat on board, as well as a new HTC Sense 6.0 user interface.
HTC has offered some teasers itself, taunting various aspects of the upcoming smartphone in a few trailer videos. The company has already confirmed that it will unveil the All New HTC One on March 25, so we'll know all the official details in just a few days, straight from the source.
