LG Optimus F3 now available from Boost Mobile for $129.99 off-contract
Alexandra BurlacuBoost Mobile has just added the budget-friendly LG Optimus F3 to its lineup, selling the handset for $129.99 contract-free.
Other carriers such as Sprint and T-Mobile have been selling the LG Optimus F3 since last summer, but Boost Mobile is only now ready to join the party. The pre-paid operator is now selling the Optimus F3 as well for the very affordable price of $129.99, without requiring any long-term contracts.
For those unfamiliar with the handset, the LG Optimus F3 doesn't have any high-end specs and features, but it offers decent performance for its price and category. The smartphone sports a 4-inch 480 x 800 IPS touchscreen, a dual-core processor clocked at 1.2GHz, 1GB of RAM, a 5-megapixel rear camera with LED flash, and a 1.3-megapixel front shooter.
The smartphone comes with just 4GB of internal storage capacity, expandable via microSD. Connectivity options include Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS, NFC, and 4G LTE. On the software side, the LG Optimus F3 runs the older Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean. A 2,460 mAh battery keeps things up and running and should provide great performance. In fact, the large battery and the low price tag are two of the top selling points of this handset.
The specs are pretty decent considering that the smartphone is available for just $129.99 off-contract, but the older version of Android may be a drawback for some, especially with other budget handsets such as the Motorola Moto G running newer software versions. Not only does the Optimus F3 run the aging Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean, but it will likely never see a firmware upgrade.
On the other hand, first-time smartphone shoppers looking for a decent handset on a budget may find this option quite attractive. Boost Mobile allows you to get the smartphone on its $55/month no-contract plan, which comes with unlimited nationwide talk and text, and unlimited data, but with speed caps after the first 25GB of traffic. Moreover, if you pay your bills on time, Boost Mobile will shrink your dues to $40 per month after 18 months.
If the LG Optimus F3 has caught your eye, you can now order it from Boost Mobile at this link.
