Apple is now selling refurbished iPad Mini with Retina display models through its online store, offering discounts of up to 16 percent.

If you've had your eyes set on the iPad Mini with Retina display launched back in October 2013, but found its price tag just a little too spicy, you might want to consider Apple's latest offer. Refurbished models are not new, but they are reconditioned and made as good as new. Buying a refurbished iGadget straight from Apple guarantees that you're actually buying high-quality hardware that the company has fitted with even newer parts in most cases. Moreover, although you're not buying a brand new device, refurbished models come with a full, one-year warranty.

The iPad Mini with Retina display may not have outperformed the popularity of its predecessor, but it was nonetheless a highly-anticipated device and it has stirred lots of interest on the tablet market. As a reminder, the slate sports a 7.9-inch LED-backlit multi-touch display with Apple's "Resolutionary" Retina technology, an A7 chip with 64-bit architecture, a 5-megapixel iSight camera, a FaceTime HD camera, 1080p video recording capabilities, and a 10-hour battery life. Connectivity options include Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n and Bluetooth 4.0.

Apple is now selling refurbished models of its iPad Mini with Retina display for notable discounts, but only Wi-Fi versions are available at this point. Interested buyers can choose between 32GB or 64GB internal storage configurations.

The 32GB Wi-Fi-only Retina iPad Mini costs $419 refurbished after a 16 percent discount, which is $80 cheaper than the retail price. The 64GB variant, meanwhile, gets a 15 percent discount and is available for $509, allowing for savings of $90.

The Apple Store may not be the first place to look for attractive discounts on Apple devices, but in this case these refurbished models are a pretty good deal. Refurbished devices are not damaged in any way and the full one-year warranty ensures the hardware you get is in mint condition.

Both the 16GB and the 32GB versions of the refurbished, Wi-Fi-only iPad Mini with Retina display are available in either Silver or Space Gray color options. If you're interested in this deal, head over to the Apple Store at this link.
