HTC One M8 S.H.I.E.L.D. Limited Edition up for grabs in Super Selfie Sweepstakes
Alexandra BurlacuHTC has teamed up with Marvel to run a "Super Selfie Sweepstakes," offering HTC One M8 S.H.I.E.L.D. Limited Edition smartphones to a few lucky participants.
The competition has already kicked off, but is only available for interested contestants in the U.S. and Canada. Aside from the S.H.I.E.L.D. logo engraved on the back of the device, this Limited Edition HTC One M8 is no different from the regular Gunmetal Grey version of the smartphone.
This means that is sports the same 5-inch 1080p display, quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 processor clocked at 2.3GHz, 2GB of RAM, 2,600 mAh battery, and Android 4.4 KitKat with HTC Sense 6.0 on top.
To enter the competition, interested candidates have to take a Captain America-inspired selfie and post it on the company's Facebook or Twitter pages, along with the #superselfie hashtag. Read the full guide here to learn more about the rules of this sweepstakes.
Only 14 HTC One M8 S.H.I.E.L.D. Limited Edition smartphones are available for this contest - 10 will go to U.S. participants, while the remaining 4 are reserved for contestants in Canada. The sweepstakes runs through May 15, and fans can also get free Captain America wallpapers at this link.
The HTC One M8 is considered one of the hottest, most powerful smartphones currently available on the market, and it boasts high-end specs and features to make it worthy of the flagship title. The handset is currently available in Gunmetal Grey, Silver, and Gold color options, but HTC is also rumored to be working on a pink version of the device. Well-known tipster @evleaks has just posted a legitimately-looking press render of the pink HTC One M8 the other day, but this color option remains unconfirmed at this point. HTC is also expected to launch its latest flagship in Glamour Red, but no details are currently available in this regards.
Moreover, the rumor mill is also pointing to an HTC One M8 Prime, which will purportedly boast a QHD (2K) display and even more powerful hardware than the recently-launched flagship, but HTC has not announced nor confirmed this.
The HTC One M8 S.H.I.E.L.D. Limited Edition, meanwhile, is very much real and will go to 14 lucky contestants in the U.S. or Canada. Are you ready for a #superselfie?
