The hotly-anticipated Nokia Lumia 930 Windows Phone 8.1 powerhouse has officially gone on sale in the UK on July 17, as previously announced.

The new Nokia Lumia 930 made its debut back at Microsoft's BUILD 2014 conference as the company's latest Lumia flagship, and it has the high-end specs and features to make it worthy of the title. Moreover, the handset is one of the very first devices to run Microsoft's latest Windows Phone 8.1 out of the box, boasting significant improvements over previous versions of the mobile operating system.

Interested buyers in the UK can now purchase the new Nokia Lumia 930 from a number of retailers including Phones 4U, which has the exclusive on the white color option, and the unlocked smartphone is also up for grabs. Phones4U is offering the smartphone for free with plans starting at £29.99 per month.

Retailer Unlocked Mobiles has started taking pre-orders for the unlocked Nokia Lumia 930 earlier this month and has now started selling the handset. The Unlocked Lumia 930 sports a £449.98 price tag including taxes, and it also comes with a few freebies such as a wireless speaker, a wireless charger, and a £20 credit to buy apps from the Windows Phone store. The free wireless bundle is worth £130 and it's part of a limited-time offer available at participating retailers, set to expire on July 31.

As a reminder, the Nokia Lumia 930 sports a 5-inch full HD display with a resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels and packs a quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 processor under the hood, paired with 2GB of RAM. The smartphone also comes with 32GB of internal storage capacity, but has no microSD support for additional memory. Other specs include a 20-megapixel rear camera with Nokia's much-touted PureView technology and a range of advanced camera features, including dual LED flash. A 2,420 mAh battery will keep things up and running, while Microsoft's latest Windows Phone 8.1 will bring a slew of neat goodies on the software side.
