Samsung Galaxy Note Edge curved-display phablet to debut alongside Note 4 at Sept. 3 Unpacked event
Alexandra BurlacuSamsung's upcoming Galaxy Note 4 is expected to debut momentarily, and it will apparently have a twin brother: the Galaxy Note Edge.
The Galaxy Note 4 is about to make its debut on Wednesday, Sept. 3, as the company's latest flagship phablet. A slew of leaks and reports have surfaced lately to boost anticipation ahead of the big unveiling, trying to paint a picture of what to expect.
While the Galaxy Note 4 is one of the most highly-anticipated devices of this year, this purported Galaxy Note Edge is bound to draw plenty of attention as well. Not too long ago, news of a Note Edge device emerged when SamMobile spotted trademarks and a couple of patents for the gadget. No substantial evidence of an actual product launch was available at that point, so the rumor mill didn't dwell on it too much.
Fast forward to the present date and new information has now surfaced regarding this purported Galaxy Note Edge. According to a new report from Android Police, Samsung is gearing up to introduce the Galaxy Note Edge alongside the much-touted Galaxy Note 4 at its Unpacked event on Sept. 3.
The promotional material (see image above) shows the two upcoming Galaxy Note devices side by side, as they are expected to debut in a short while. The image shows the Note Edge with a curved display that wraps neatly around its edges.
No other details are available at this point regarding the Galaxy Note Edge's specs and features, but more information should become available very soon. The Galaxy Note 4, meanwhile, is expected to venture into QHD (2K) territory with a 5.7-inch display boasting a 2560 x 1440 resolution, pack a quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 805 processor or a 64-bit Exynos chipset (depending on market), at least 3GB of RAM, and a slew of other top-notch specs and features all around.
Nothing is official just yet, but we'll soon know all there is to know about these two new Galaxy Note devices straight from the source. We'll be covering Samsung's Unpacked event later today and bring you the latest news as soon as they become available, so stay tuned.
