New Motorola products pre-orders start on Tuesday, Sept. 16, Moto 360 goes back in stock
Alexandra BurlacuMotorola's recently-announced devices, including the second-generation Moto X smartphone, are set to go up for pre-order on Tuesday, Sept. 16, through various channels.
The new lineup of products from Motorola debuted back at the IFA 2014 trade show in Berlin earlier this month, and now they're getting ready for prime time. The new Moto X, previously referred to as the Moto X+1 or the Moto X2, will be available through carrier AT&T. Also set to go up for pre-order are the Moto X Pure Edition, as well as the company's new accessories.
"Choose to beat the crowd. Starting Tuesday, September 16, pre-orders will open for some of the new Motorola products we announced earlier this month, including Moto X for AT&T, Moto X - Pure Edition, Moto Hint and Motorola Turbo Charger," the company announced in a blog post on Sunday, Sept. 14. "All four products will be available for pre-order on motorola.com starting at 11 a.m. CT. Shipping dates vary by product and will be provided at checkout."
Moreover, the company's much-touted Moto 360 smartwatch will also be back in stock, as the gadget made its commercial debut a couple of weeks ago but has quickly sold out.
The new Moto X sports notable improvements over its predecessor, boasting a larger 5.2-inch display with a 1080p full HD resolution and a powerful 2.5GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 processor under the hood. The Moto Pure Edition, meanwhile, will come with an unlocked SIM, as well as an unlocked bootloader, retailing for $499.99. As the name suggests, this version is the unbranded model of the Moto X, suitable for those who don't want the carrier version.
The company's newly-unveiled accessories will also go up for pre-order on Tuesday, Sept. 16. The Moto Hint is a direct wireless earbud designed to allow users to control their smartphone through voice commands, and will retail for $149.99. The Motorola Turbo Charger will deliver more than 8 hours of battery life to the new Motorola phones in just 15 minutes, and will be available for $34.99. As previously mentioned, the Moto 360 will also go back on sale on the same day, but in limited quantities only. This means that the smartwatch will likely sell out again in no time.
Lastly, Motorola is also offering a trade-in program, allowing users to turn in their older devices in exchange for a Motorola Visa Prepaid Card worth up to $300, which they can put toward the purchase of customized Moto X using Moto Maker.
