Motorola starts selling Moto 360 with metal bands, adds Nexus 6
Alexandra BurlacuMotorola has officially started selling the Moto 360 with metal bands, and has also added the Nexus 6 to its store.
The Moto 360 smartwatch is widely considered one of the best wearable gadgets currently available on the market. Sporting good specifications and a stylish, classic watch form factor, the Moto 360 raised a lot of interest so far and the models with metallic straps have been highly anticipated.
Verizon Wireless started taking pre-orders for the Moto 360 with metal bands a while back, but has since put the model on backorder with no exact launch date available.
Motorola has now finally started selling the Moto 360 models with metal bands, offering either dark or light gray finishes for $299.99, in the regular 23mm band size. Moreover, Motorola also lists a silver stainless steel model, as well as a champagne gold one, as "coming soon," but these options will be available only in the "Slim bands" section, which measure 18mm instead of 23mm. The "light version" will cost $299.99, while the champagne gold one will go up to $329.99. As the name of the section suggests, these models are designed for smaller wrists.
The company is also expanding the options for Moto 360 leather bands with the addition of a cognac leather model. This option, however, doesn't appear to be bundled with the smartwatch itself, but will instead be available for purchase separately. At the same time, accessory makers DODOcase and Tylt will also be making new bands for the Moto 360, including silicon options.
When it comes to the Nexus 6, Google seems to no longer be the only option for purchasing the handset. The smartphone's manufacturer, Motorola, has listed the Nexus 6 on its website, albeit it already appears as out of stock with a "Notify me" option. Motorola will be selling the smartphone in white or midnight blue color options, as well as 32GB or 64GB internal storage configurations, for a $649.99 starting price.
Google, for its part, has finally started selling the Nexus 6, but only in limited quantities. After pre-orders of the device sold out in less than 4 hours, Google promised to replenish stock every Wednesday. As expected, however, whatever stock Google added on Wednesday, Nov. 5, vanished in no time. While Google said it will be adding more stock each Wednesday, Motorola did not specify when or how often it will replenish its Nexus 6 inventory. As previously mentioned, the smartphone is out of stock for now.
