LG G4 to debut in late April, boast curved QHD display?
Alexandra BurlacuThe highly-anticipated LG G4 will reportedly make its debut sometime at the end of next month, according to a new report out of Korea.
As the Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2015 was approaching, rumors claimed that LG would not unveil its next-generation flagship at the show. Indeed, the new LG G4 was notably absent from the MWC, but the handset should nonetheless make its debut soon enough.
The Korean media now indicates that the much-rumored LG G4 will finally make its official debut sometime at the end of April. The news comes from a new Korea Herald report (via GforGames), which also bolsters previous claims that the LG G4 will boast a QHD curved display of around 5 inches.
Not too long ago, LG mobile chief Cho Juno touted that the company's new LG G4 will be dramatically different compared to its predecessor. Subsequent reports claimed the new iteration will stand out from the crowd through its design, and recent rumors suggested that the LG G4 would come with a curved display similar to the G Flex 2, albeit not as pronounced.
The LG G4 is expected to pack powerful specs and features all around, launching as a real powerhouse. Rumored specifications include a 64-bit octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 processor, a 20.7-megapixel rear camera with Optical Image Stabilization (OIS), and a fingerprint scanner.
It remains unclear, however, whether the smartphone will feature a full-metal body. Its predecessor, the LG G3, launched with a polycarbonate body painted to look like brushed metal, but reports indicated that the LG G4 would finally make the switch to a full-metal casing.
On the other hand, recent rumors suggested that LG would not be able to move fast enough to launch the LG G4 with a metal body, but might make it with the LG G4 Note.
With no official information from LG, however, it all remains in the rumor state at this point. As always in such cases, it's highly recommended to take all leaks, rumors, and reports with a healthy dose of skepticism. If this new report turns out to be accurate and the LG G4 is indeed set to make its debut by the end of next month, more information should come to light soon.
