Second-generation Moto X (2014) gets neat discount in India
Alexandra BurlacuThe 2014 Motorola Moto X (second-generation) is now available at a neat discount in India, likely due to increasing competition in the market.
With several smartphones from Chinese manufacturers available at budget-friendly prices with impressive specifications on board, Motorola apparently aims to stay competitive by significantly cutting the price of the Moto X (2014) in India.
After the new discount, the base model of the Moto X with 16GB of internal storage capacity and a polycarbonate rear cover now costs Rs. 26,999, the variant with a leather finish costs Rs. 28,999, while the bamboo version costs Rs. 29,999. The 32GB model with a plastic body, meanwhile, costs Rs. 28,999. No premium finishes are available for a 32GB model part of this offer, at least not at this point.
As a reminder, the second-generation Moto X released in 2014 sports notable improvements over its predecessor, offering higher-end specifications. While the original Moto X stood out from the crowd due to its unprecedented customization options, but otherwise packed mediocre specs, the 2014 Moto X improved on most areas while still retaining the high customization aspect.
More specifically, the 2014 Moto X (second-generation) sports a 5.2-inch Super AMOLED display with a resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels, a quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 processor clocked at 2.5GHz, 2GB of RAM, 16GB or 32GB of internal storage capacity, a 13-megapixel rear camera, a 2-megapixel front shooter, and a 2,300 mAh battery.
In other words, the 2014 Moto X does not feature overly impressive specifications and there are other devices out there with similar specs and lower price tags, but the new discount for the Indian market should nonetheless make the smartphone more attractive to prospective buyers.
Moreover, the 2014 Moto X also runs Android 5.0 Lollipop, which is the last major version of Google's popular operating system. The latest Android 5.1 Lollipop update is also expected to arrive soon, further improving the experience.

Neither Motorola nor Flipkart mention whether this is a limited-time deal set to expire soon or the new price is here to stay, but interested customers might want to take advantage of this offer while it lasts.
