ZTE's conference in Shenzen China announced the global release of its flagship products along with the Axon Mini. ZTE is actually one of the first manufacturers to announce the Force Touch technology that distinguishes varying pressures of touch on a smartphone screen. The new Axon Mini will have this technolgy in tow as it becomes available for purchase around the globe.
Adam Zeng, CEO of ZTE mobile devices, believes the company has all the necessary ingredients to become a global leader in consumer electronics. ZTE's high end flagship strategy will attempt to take a large piece of the consumer pie by offering smartphones and gadgets for users with a little more cash to spare. Along with their affordable line of smartphones and their solid renown in modem technology, it's not hard to imagine that they can take on their Chinese counterparts, Huawei or Xiaomi.
The Axon Mini will come with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 616 octa-core processor along with an Adreno 405 GPU. It will have a 3GB RAM and 32GB of memory that also supports a 128GB SD card expansion. Its 13 megapixel main camera boasts of PDAF technology that slashes focus time to just 0.1 seconds. The front camera will have 8 megapixels with a 5P aspherical lens. The dual microphones will deliver 32 bit Hi-Fi audio playback and sound recording and the entire phone will be encased in an aircraft-grade aluminim-titanium alloy. Along with a 5.2 inch AMOLED curved edge screen, the Axon Mini will have security authentication options that can either scan your fingerprints, eye or voice. The smartphone will also come with an NBA version that features team logos from various NBA franchises. The Axon Mini will be available in Ion Gold, Chromium Silver and the uber popular Rose Gold option. The retail price on the standard Axon Mini is roughly $360 to $400 US depending on the color option and the premium NBA edition priced at roughly $440 US.
