Huawei has just revealed a new flagship phone that will be joining its smartphone family in the CES press con. The new flagship smartphone is the Mate 8 model; it is sleek looking and has a 6-inch HD display with a Corning Gorilla Glass 4 protection. Mate 8 is the first of its kind to run the latest chipset from the Chinese tech company's own processing line, the Kirin 950. The Kirin 950 is an octa-core processor that is supposed to boost a device's CPU power up to 100 percent and the GPU performance level to 125 percent more than the previous smartphone models that have been released.
Huawei Mate 8 is said to run on Android 6.0 Marshmallow. It sports a 16-megapixel rear shooter with the all-new Sony IMX298 sensor and an 8-megapixel front shooter, which is described as "made with a beauty algorithm that is for taking the perfect selfies." It can shoot a 1080p HD video.
The latest smartphone model is powered by a 4,000mAh battery, which is claimed by the Chinese tech company to have a more improved battery life than its former devices and has up to 70 percent more power efficiency. It is also claimed that the battery can be charged quickly; charging it for about 30 minutes only can already give the user a full day's use.
Aside from that, the device also has a fingerprint scanning ability, which is not relatively new to Huawei smartphones. And the Chinese tech company is claiming that the fingerprint scanning ability in Mate 8 has been improved by 10 percent. The speed for fingerprint unlocking has also been increased and is now 100 times faster than the earlier version.
Huawei Mate 8 comes in two different memory capability versions. The Mate 8 with 3GB RAM and 32GB internal storage will sell at €599 EUR or $643 USD, while the 4GB RAM and 64GB internal storage version will be priced at €699 EUR or $750 USD. The latest device from Huawei comes in four different colors: champagne gold, moonlight silver, space gray and mocha brown. It will be made available in 30 countries throughout Europe, as well as in Mexico, Australia and the UAE. There is no information when it will be made available in the U.S. though.
