The Chinese tech giant announced that an Android Nougat update will be deployed on their flagship devices - here's an update on some of them.

Huawei Mate 9

The company's latest flagship, the Huawei Mate 9, was announced on November 2016 and is expected to be released on European and Chinese markets before Christmas Day, and on January 2017 in the United States and Australia. The phablet will be available with Android Nougat 7.0 installed, in the form of Huawei's in-house EMUI 5.0.

The phone will feature an octa-core Hisilicon Kirin 960 with 64 GB of storage space and 4 GB RAM. The phone's storage space is further expandable via microSD, for up to 256 GB.

The Mate 9 will also feature a dual-lens 20-megapixel + 12-megapixel rear camera with Leica optics, a 5.9-inch full-HD (1920 x 1080 resolution) IPS display, a 4,000mAh battery with fast charging capabilities, a rear-mounted fingerprint sensor, and a USB Type-C connector.

Huawei P9

A few reports suggest that the Android Nougat 7.0 update for the Huawei P9 is already rolling out, but exclusive to the Chinese region as of the moment. The final Android N build for the P9 is B352.

Originally, the company has announced that the Android Nougat update for the P9 will be released in early 2017 - however with this early rollout in China, users are speculating that the international version update may occur before the year ends.

Huawei Mate 8

Like the P9, the Android update for the Mate 8 has also been released in the China region. It arrives as build version B552. Similar to the P9's case, the update's international release may occur before the end of 2016.

Tech Times released a guide for international Huawei Mate 8 users who wish to upgrade their own devices through the server method.
