Sony Interactive Entertainment recently updated their Playstation's 4 Media Player to version 2.00 along with new features.
Although the update information was limited, it will include new accessibility features and has wider format support. It was reported that MPEG4 and MPEG2-PS is already compatible and can be played through the console.
The upgrade also allows users to play their music through the console by connecting a flash drive or linking a Media Server to their device since it now supports other formats.
As of the moment, the media file update has a 58 megabytes file size for download, according to Play3.De.
Despite the update, one user said that, "All my files that didn't play before still don't play," reported by PlayStation LifeStyle.
On the other hand, it was reported that the Spotify app on PS4 has also been updated to version 1.02. Its patch notes said that "improvements to playback stability" has been made along with "bug fixes," which affected the previous version not to work.
Meanwhile, as Sony updates their Media Player with more accessibility feature and format support, the company also recently revealed their fiscal report. The console has become the fastest selling product and has sold over 40 million units worldwide.
Andrew House, Sony Interactive Entertainment president and global CEO relayed his gratitude to Sony's fans through his speech.
"We will strive to deliver even more exciting gaming experiences to our users," said House, according to GameNGuide.
"Further driving the momentum and accelerating the expansion of the PS4 platform and its business this fiscal year by offering an unparalleled line-up of games, bringing our virtual reality system, PlayStation VR, to market and providing ground-breaking features and network services," he added.
As PlayStation 4 Media Player update and fiscal report was released, the company sets their goal in improving and continue developing their technology to continue their success.
