Apple recently launched major updates to its software during the WWDC 2016 event. The company's voice-activated personal digital assistant would now be made available to the Mac devices for the very first time.
According to MacWorld, Apple revealed various functional updates to its AI assistant, which would now be made available in the upcoming version of macOS to be called as Sierra. But, many reports suggest that even though Siri would enable the users to perform various functions on the Mac devices, Apple would need to do something extra in order to attract more customers.
There are reports that Apple did not reveal updates about the much-awaited hardware devices like the iPhone 7 or MacBook Pro during the WWDC 2016 event. Many reports claim that the sales of MacBook Pro and other devices have dropped down because of no new updates. BBC News reported that the company needs to keep up with the growing competition and launch hardware devices at a faster rate.
Meanwhile, it is reported that the updated version of Siri would help the macOS users to easily carry out tasks like creating a document on the computer, search for various documents and run different file queries. There are reports that Siri would also enable the users to play music on their Mac devices just with the use of voice commands.
Further, Apple has also confirmed that Siri would be made available to the third-party developers on iOS platform. USA Today reported that the developers can carry out different function like send messages with the help of iMessage and Slack apps or call for a ride on Uber or search for images on Pinterest.
Besides, the reports also suggest that Siri would also help the users to send payments to friends using Apple Pay or different payment applications.
The macOS Sierra with the updated Siri voice-enabled digital assistant is expected to be released in fall this year.
