Upcoming Samsung Galaxy S8 is expected to have a new type of recognition system along with a fingerprint scanner, features that its predecessor didn't have.

Patently Mobile reported that the Galaxy S8 will feature a triple camera system in order to house the Iris scanner functionality.

"The first lens may include two narrow-angle lenses having narrow angles of view to expand and capture images of regions of the eyes of the user," according to a Samsung representative.

"The second lens may include a wide-angle lens having a wide angle of view to capture an image of the face of the user. The first lens may be a zoom lens, and the second lens may be a short focal length lens. That is, in some embodiments, the iris recognition device may obtain images for recognizing the iris of the user using three lenses."

Apart from the Iris scanner, Expert Reviews reported that the Galaxy S8 device will feature VR compatibility. Reports claimed that the smartphone will provide excellent and more realistic virtual reality experience to its users with the help of Samsung Gear VR and Google Daydream VR headsets.

Furthermore, there are rumors that the upcoming Samsung device will sport a 5.5-inch screen and 4K resolution display to support the VR feature. The Galaxy S8 is expected to deliver high performance to its users with Snapdragon 830 processor and Super AMOLED display with 6 GB of RAM, reported WWCF Tech.

Moreover, the device is expected to consist of USB Type-C port, which is currently the most desired standard in the smartphone market. Reports claimed that the new port will allow the Samsung Galaxy S8 to provide users with fast charging and data transfers facility.

The Samsung Galaxy S8 phone is anticipated to be released in April, 2017 with a price tag of $900.
