Google Android Wear’s ‘Together’ Watch Face To Be Removed As Release Date Set This September?
Shilpa ChakravortyGoogle's 'Together' watch face, which was designed to mimic the Digital Touch feature on Apple's iWatch, will be discontinued from end of September.
According to Google, a lot of the features of "Together" will be integrated into Android Wear 2.0, although the new watch OS will not be rolling out to all Android Wear devices.
"With the release of Android Wear 2.0, many of the best features of Together will be integrated directly into the platform so you can connect with more people using your favorite messaging services. In addition to emoji, you'll be able to use Smart Reply, keyboard, or handwriting on the watch screen," reads Google's announcement.
"You'll also be able to customize a number of different watch faces with useful data from your favorite apps," adds Google in an in-app message. Apparently, feedback from Together will be used to tweak Android Wear 2.0 before its final release.
The wearable released along with the Android 7.0 Nougat and the next generation Nexus devices, especially if Google has planned to launch a Nexus smartwatch in the pipeline.
Although Google has dropped hints regarding the specific features of the smartwatch, the tech giant is yet to reveal a probable release window.
Notably, the smartwatch software for Android Wear will be bringing in more customization options, additional new input methods, better fitness tracking, and a direct access to the cloud.
So far, Android Wear 2.0 is scheduled for a fall release, but Google hasn't been more specific about the update's release schedule.
As of now, fans can stay tuned to news to know more about the possible specs and release date of Google Android Wear.
