Google Nexus 2016 Variants To Be Priced Mid-Range? To Include New Assistant Feature?
Dheeraj RThe latest update on the upcoming Google Nexus 2016 hinted that the device will be a mid-range device. Reports claimed that the price of the device will be quite fair owing to all the excellent specs like Snapdragon processor, VR compatibility and much more.
According to the internal sources in HTC, the two Nexus 2016 variants codenamed as Nexus Marlin and Nexus Sailfish are expected to be priced at $599 and $449 respectively, reported Nexus Blog. Reports stated that the price mentioned is for the 32 GB internal storage for both the variants. This hinted that the cost of 64 GB storage option may vary.
Earlier there were rumors that the Google Nexus 2016 will be priced at $500 and $300 for the variants Marlin and Sailfish respectively. But, the recent leaks have hinted that the upcoming device will be inclined more towards the premium range.
Meanwhile, BGR reported that the Nexus smartphone is rumored to be launched in October 2016. As the users look forward to the release date of the Google Nexus 2016, few reports claimed that the specs of the smartphone will vary according to the variants.
The Nexus Marlin is touted to consist of a 5.5-inch display and a Snapdragon 820 chipset along with 4 GB RAM. On the other hand, the Nexus Sailfish is expected to sport a 5.2-inch display with the same processor and RAM specs as that of the Marlin variant.
Besides, both the variants will consist of a glass and metal chassis and will be sleeker as compared to the Nexus predecessor. It is also expected to provide the users with additional features like the Google Assistant integrated into the Home button.
In terms of the software specs, the Google Nexus 2016 will run on the upcoming Android 7.0 Nougat operating system. Also, the new OS is expected to support the Google's Daydream VR platform.
