'Diablo 4' Cancelled? Blizzard Scrapping The Game After Director's Resignation?

Rumors about the next Diablo game from Blizzard, "Diablo 4," has been making rounds over the Internet after the company's separation from "Diablo 3" director Josh Mosqueira. The company is now looking for new game designer, but for an unnamed project. Rumors about the 4th "Diablo" game may be still too far off or even yet, impossible.

Mosqueira was the lead director for the "Diablo 3" game, but just a few months ago, he had to split ways with Blizzard for undeclared reasons. This resulted to Blizzard opening a number of job vacancies for a project that they were currently working on.

As the rumors highly suggest, the project is none other the "Diablo 4." However, some factors may need to be considered first and some of them suggests that the game is not being developed right now.

As of the moment, multiple news sites over the internet points that there's even more uncertainty about "Diablo 4" due to Blizzard's focus on a different game. With the new director, it does seem like it would take some time for the the new lead guy to understand the game.

This also makes the other possibility of a new franchise even stronger.

Other theories point to a "Diablo 3" expansion instead. Even an HD remake of the more popular "Diablo 2" is a possibility. There's also "Overwatch," which may also get some major updates and additional content.

Given the gap between the games in the "Diablo" series, developers may still pursue in creating another one with the new development team and director, but it would make more sense for the company to release a new game first.

While there's a big uncertainty with "Diablo 4," some fans are still hopeful for its announcement and the next best event that it could go out would be the upcoming BlizzCon, which is to be held this November.
