'Pokémon GO' May No Longer Be Released To Windows Phone, User Interest Rapidly Waning
J RoseThe augmented reality mobile game "Pokémon GO" has been around for more than two months now, but it looks like it will be skipping Windows Phones altogether.
"Pokémon GO" has become a worldwide phenomenon since its first day of launch, and is enjoyed by both Android and iOS users. However, Windows Phone users are being left behind and Niantic Labs has not announced any further plans to bring the game to them.
Niantic CEO John Hanke has spoken at length about the company's future plans for the game, including a possibility of bringing "Pokémon GO" to Android Wear during a recent TechCrunch event, but the CEO did not mention any intention to support Windows Phones.
Windows Phone Users No Longer Interested
As the hype surrounding the game has slowly died down, so does the demand for "Pokémon GO" to to be launched on Windows Phones. According to Softpedia, the Windows Phone community no longer want the game on their phones as the game's popularity has quickly waned in just two short months.
Even the petition to bring "Pokémon GO" to Windows Phones has been completely abandoned, and despite reaching over 100,000 signatures by Aug. 2, it did not reach its target number of 150,000 signatures. The petition is already closed and is no longer active.
PoGo-UWP Brings "Pokémon GO" To Windows Phones

Developed by Microsoft reject Stefano Tenuta, the unofficial app was used over 1.5 million times by over 50,000 unique users since its launch, Business Insider reported. The app can also be played on a Windows PC. Interested users can download the app on the GitHub page.
