As per the report, the new Nexus 7 seems to be on track for release on or before the end of the year. But the general expectation is that the device would be using the Android Nougat as the Andromeda operating system is premature for time being to be in use for the Google devices.

One of the popular rumors about the upcoming Nexus 7 successor is that it may not be running on the Android operating system but rather on the Andromeda, which is the merger between the Chrome OS and Android. With Andromeda bringing in the desktop capabilities to Android Devices, we could perhaps see new and innovative features in the tablet.
