Microsoft is likely to introduce three new smartphones from the Surface Phone line-up in 2017.

While there have been numerous rumors surrounding the Microsoft Surface phone, the only solid piece of evidence might come in January. It is suggested that Microsoft had obtained the surfacephone.com domain name.

Also, many experts suggested that Panos Panay and his Surface team are working on a smartphone to replace the Lumia family, and that it'll come in an all-metal body - just like the Surface hybrid laptop family.

The upcoming smartphones from Microsoft are speculated to come with better hardware and top-notch features to create a standard for Surface-line phones. Kevin Gallo, Corporate Vice President, Microsoft has recently said that the company is planning to move ahead and develop headsets with the enterprise sector in mind. This rumor confirms that the firm is planning to take a pie of the smartphone market, which it fails to do with its Lumia-line smartphones.

There are a lot of speculation regarding the Surface phones that include features like fingerprint reader, compass, barometer, proximity sensors and a 20-megapixel Carl Zeiss rear camera.

The Surface-line may feature an Intel Atom X3 processor, furnished with a 5.5 inch Active-Matrix Organic Light-emitting Diode display, a USB Port and a liquid cooling technology. The body design will be elegantly encased in an aluminium and magnesium structure.

The three new Surface smartphones will come in variable features like 3GB RAM in the lowest priced model while the top model is likely to have 8 GB RAM, which combined with the rumored 512 GB of the on-board storage.

Microsoft had already been open about "Bridge solution" to run both Android and iOS Apps with their existing app onto the Windows 10 with minimum coding.

There are no confirmations with the release date, Microsoft could have delayed the launch for Intel's new chips to fully mature.
