The new smartphone LG V20 from the South Korean giant is said to be the best phone from LG. It is an enormous phone with no app drawer by default and a bland appearance. Meanwhile, Chinese smartphone manufacturer Xiaomi has launched its new smartphone Mi5 in the mid-budget premium smartphone range packed with lots of high end specifications.

Here is a specific comparison between LG V20 and Xiaomi Mi5 to help you compare both.

The new LG V20  features a 5.7 inch IPS Gorilla Glass 4 display with 2560 x 1440 resolution and 513ppi pixel density. It also comes with a secondaty 2.1 inch display, which is called as notification bar by LG.

Contrary to that, the Xiaomi Mi 5 boasts single display with 5.5-inch full HD screen and 1920x1080 pixel (428 ppi pixel density) protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 4.

The LG V20 runs on the lates Android 7.0 Nougat OS. However, the Mi 5 runs on Android 6.0 based MIUI v7.0.

Both the Mi 5 and the LG V20 have Adreno 530 GPU, that will definitely excite mobile gamers.

The V20 comes with Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 quad-core processor (2x2.15 GHz Kryo & 2x1.6 GHz Kryo). However, Mi 5 fares evenly with Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 chipset but falls little short with 1.8 GHz Quad core processor. Meanwhile Mi5 Pro edition comes with 2.15 GHz Kryo Quad Core processor.

LG offers 32 GB and 64 GB inbuilt storage with 4GB of RAM in both models. It offers microSD card support up to 256GB. Whereas, Xiaomi comes with 32GB and 64GB model in-built storage having 3GB RAM and 128 GB internal storage having 4GB RAM . Mi5 doesn't offer expandable memory feature.

Xiaomi Mi 5 features a 16MP Sony IMX298 main camera with f/2.0 aperture, phase detection autofocus, OIS, dual-LED (dual tone) flash, 1/2.8" sensor size and 1.12 µm pixel size, and a 4MP front-snapper with f/2.0 aperture, 1/3" sensor size and 2µm pixel size.

Meanwhile, the LG V20  contains dual rear-facing cameras: 16 MP (29mm, f/1.8) and 8 MP (12mm, f/2.4) /w laser autofocus, OIS and LED flash and 5MP front-snapper with ƒ / 1.9 aperture.

The V20 comes with a removable 3,200 mAh battery, while Xiaomi improves the charging speed with Qualcomm Quick Charge 3.0 technology and 3,000mAh.

The price of the LG V20 is slightly higher than the Mi 5. While the V20 seems to have an edge with a superior processor, bigger screen, and extra storage option, the Xiaomi Mi 5 can win the market with almost the same level of specs at a more budget-friendly option.
