Tesla Model 3 News: EV With Auotpilot Feature, Release Date Still Set On Time?

Despite the fact many analysts doubt on the actual delivery of the electric vehicle and lack of confidence among some car pundits, Tesla claims that their much affordable electric vehicle is on track and would be able to meet the targeted schedule.  

With the announcement of Tesla CEO Elon Musk that every car would be able to drive itself including the much anticipated Model 3, many are excited about the different possibilities. The full autonomous capability is expected to be present for all Tesla cars with level five hardware, which requires no interaction from the driver.

With the current upgrades, Tesla's Autopilot suite just got bigger than the advanced cruise control. With an updated GPS, ultrasonic sensors, and the new processing powers, Wired reported that Elon Musk must be referring to the Tesla cars having supercomputers.

Even though the hardware upgrades would be standard, the Autopilot convenience features come at a good price of $8,000.There would be network support for the electric vehicle as well.Tesla also stated  that new orders for the Tesla 3 model would begin shipping in middle or later part of 2018.

Currently, the Tesla 3 tops the charts for the most anticipated electric vehicles in near future. As per Auto World News, the pre-orders touched the 373000 mark. With the reservation number for Tesla 3 reaching 373000 as of June, according to, it seems Tesla's most affordable electric car has already piled up huge demands.

From what we know so far, the Model 3 is smaller comparatively to Model S. The third-generation battery technology is expected to be featured in the Model 3. The full range of customization options is yet to be fully released, although rumors are being circulated.

However, Tesla is being criticized from some quarters stating that it was erroneous decision to roll out the autonomous features before the new technology was even proven and tested.
