Forget 'Roller Coaster Tycoon World'; 'Planet Coaster' Might Be The True Successor We've Been Waiting For

"Planet Coaster" is a game that might have been "Roller Coaster Tycoon World" if only that it hadn't been prematurely released. Will it be the game that theme park game aficionados have always wanted?

As Destructoid put it, the latest RCT game called "Roller Coaster Tycoon World" isn't getting a lot of nice feedback mainly after being released half-baked. In fact, it is indeed getting a bit low of a score from Steam users, garnering it a 5/10 rating.

This is where "Planet Coaster" comes in. A theme park game that might just be something in-between the RCT game that fans have always loved and the fun factor that could be expected from something like "Scream Ride."

Just waiting to get an official beta release this November 9, things are looking to be even more different and better with "Planet Coaster." Players will now have access to two new additional scenarios that will involve focus on park design and entrepreneurial skills.

The alpha version brought the game's core mechanics about building before and and designing the coaster. The next release will now let the players touchbase with the other managerial things like providing early access to parks, ticket prices and even do outrageous things like not paying the staff.

The management portion of the game is given an entirely new level of realism that there are tons of options to choose from like filtering the customers by not allowing certain person from a set of criteria like the color of their shirt, status or even just a particular person.

The game is still far from being a complete replacement for the RCT series, but "Planet Coaster" is shaping up to be a strong contender in the theme park genre, but we'll see soon enough as the game officially releases this coming November 17.
